This Design-Build project involves the rebuilding of I-395 corridor from its terminus at the west of the I-95/Midtown Interchange (I-95/State Road 836/I-395) to its corridor terminus at the West Channel Bridges of US 41/MacArthur Causeway, approximately 1.4 miles. I-395 is an Interstate Principal Arterial and major east-west connector serving Miami Beach and the ports.

JSE is providing the Independent Design Check to validate the design of Category 2 structures as required by FDOT plans preparation manual, Volume 1 – Chapter 26.12.

JSE is a sub consultant to the Designer HDR, Inc. to provide design check for design of the cable-stayed signature Fountain Bridge with six arches springing from one central arch thrust block. The Fountain arches are precast concrete segments and will be the largest concrete segmental arch bridge in the United States.

JSE is a sub consultant to the Designer Corven Engineering, Inc. to provide design check for design of the mainline bridges and connector ramps using constant depth precast concrete segmental box girders. JSE will also review the twin multi-cell concrete box girder superstructure and separate viaduct widening structures.
