This Design-Build project constructed improvements to the I-75 / KY 338 interchange, US 25 / KY 338 interchange and pavement rehabilitation for 8.5 miles on I-75.

The US 25 / KY 338 interchange required a new bridge structure that could accommodate the convergence of all the ramps and mainline road. To accomplish this, JSE designed a 3-span bridge, 283 ft in length that utilizes two intermediate straddle bents.

This bridge utilizes 7 lines of 42” deep bulb tees in spans of 106’, 85’ & 90’ that were cast integral with the abutments and 2 intermediate post-tensioned straddle bents. Both straddle bents were 9’-6” deep and 6’ wide and integral to the column supports. Straddle bent 1 had a total length of 92 ft utilizing 7 PT tendons and straddle bent 2 had a total length of 84 ft utilizing 5 PT tendons. Each tendon contained 19-0.6” strands.
